Favourite Subject at School

My favourite subject at school was Business Studies because what I was learning in the classroom was real to me. My interest in the subject began at an early age. My mum and dad ran a small bar at an amateur football club and every Sunday afternoon would be spent counting the weekend’s takings and entering the information into the accounts.

Hobbies

I am very much an outdoor person. I am one of  few people who actually like to run, I have completed several half marathons and 10k races for charity. I absolutely love bodyboarding, if you cannot find me in the summer, head to Cornwall and I’m sure to be in the sea. If the sea is flat, I will be out on a paddle board.  When the weather is poor, I head indoors and participate in indoor rock climbing with my husband and daughter.

About Me

I grew up in Four Oaks, North Birmingham so I am a Brummie. I studied at the University of Wolverhampton gaining my Business degree but I had a few jobs before retraining to become a teacher including running the cinema at Merry Hill shopping centre and moving vast quantities of foreign currencies for business companies at a bank.

I have been teaching at The Pingle Academy for all of my teaching career, it is like a second family. I am so proud of my achievements at Pingle. Teaching business and law has enabled me to support our students onto the next stage in their lives. I am proud that I have helped so many achieve the grades needed to become solicitors, doctors, forensic scientists, pilots, managers, plumbers and builders to name a few. I hope to continue to do this for many years to come.
