Rewarding Students

Our Rewards Policy

Rationale

The Pingle Academy rewards strategy is designed to provide a positive focus for students, ensuring motivation for learning.  Through a positive rewards strategy, we aim to promote positive behaviour habits, leading to sustained progress in the classroom.

We believe that encouragement and praise is crucial to promote high standards of behaviour.  In rewarding students, we wish to ensure: they feel valued, they are able to build their confidence and they are motivated to achieve.  Rewarding good behaviour enables students to realise that desirable behaviour, self-discipline and a responsibility to themselves and others is highly valued in our community.

We will ensure that, regardless of ability and age, all students across the academy will be able to benefit from an effective rewards system which is applied through Faculties, Year Teams and the Leadership Team.

What we are rewarding

Our core values will form the basis for rewarding students through the awarding of achievement points on ClassCharts.  Examples of behaviours for each core value are indicated below as a guide and not an exhaustive list.  Students will accumulate achievement points and are able to spend these rewards in our online shop where they can purchase items such as equipment, confectionary, vouchers and much more.

Work Hard: Producing excellent work, positive contribution to lessons, scoring well in assessments, completing extra homework/revision, out of school activities (such as representing the county, or achieving a grade in an instrument).

Be Kind: Helping other students, holding a door open, handing the books out, work in the community (for example charity work).

Choose Wisely: Reporting an incident, supporting the academy shows, making good decisions.

Rewards offer 2026

We are excited to share an outline of the new rewards available to all students. Our aim is to ensure every student has the opportunity to receive an award and to recognise attainment, excellence, effort, progress and consistency.  The widening of our focus should capture more students allowing us to celebrate their success.
