Student Leadership

Student Leaders 2021-2022: We are proud of our Student Leaders and we believe that, through investing time and energy into developing young leaders, we are positively investing in the future of the local community which we serve.

At The Pingle Academy, we believe that it is vitally important that we nurture and develop the leaders of tomorrow.  We provide plenty of opportunities for our students to develop their leadership skills and one of the primary opportunities is, for a select amount of our students, that they become Student Leaders.

Our student leaders are democratically elected by their peers and are expected to have the following qualities:

  • To be committed to help effect positive change in the school;
  • To be fully responsible and accountable for their actions;
  • To be approachable so that their peers feel comfortable enough to express their concerns to them;
  • To be outgoing and confident so that their opinions are voiced, when required.

Within each year group we have two Student Leaders – one male and one female and the Leaders meet with a member of staff from the Senior Leadership Team on a regular basis. This information is then shared with staff and swift actions are taken to ensure that the students’ needs are met wherever possible.  These are elected by students and are appointments are normally made in the latter part of the autumn term.

We are proud of our Student Leaders and we believe that, through investing time and energy into developing young leaders, we are positively investing in the future of the local community which we serve.

As well as Student Leaders, we have Year 11 Prefects who serve a vital role in supporting the running of the school.  Prefects are chosen following a series of tasks and interviews.  They take up their duties in the summer term prior to starting Year 11.
