About The Pingle Academy
Our chief concern is to help parents/carers to prepare their children for adult lives in a rapidly changing world. Our main aims are to provide a broad and stimulating curriculum, to set the highest standards of learning and behaviour and to encourage students to reach out for these standards with confidence.
Our Academy is a community where people pride themselves on having respect for each other. We share responsibility for creating a safe and pleasant place to work. Our mission statement is: A Place for Everyone – Respect / Engage / Succeed.
This is an inclusive school and we are proud of our efforts to educate and care for all our students, whatever their abilities.
The Pingle Academy is pleasantly situated adjacent to open countryside yet close to the centre of Swadlincote, a South Derbyshire town of some 25,000 inhabitants. Although older industries such as pottery still exist, many smaller firms have been established in recent years. There has been considerable residential development with an increase of commuters to surrounding towns.
The area boasts a Ski Centre and well-equipped Sports Centre. Swadlincote lies at the heart of the National Forest area.
The Academy lies within easy reach of Burton-on-Trent, Derby, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Tamworth and Lichfield, and is close to the M42, A42 and A38. The Peak District National Park, and many attractive areas of South Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Leicestershire are also within easy reach.
